Lamb Manor, Ruskin, FL
This is Wall Street Journal’s House of the Year for 2015 and it comes with a pretty interesting history. Better knows as “Lamb Manor”, this turn of the century Victorian historic mansion was actually transported via boat from Palmetto Florida to Ruskin Florida at a cost of $250,000 by ferry. This secluded hideaway in South Tampa overlooks a 12,000 acre aquatic sanctuary with 20 miles of protected beach front.
The Lamb Manor, with its 60 foot tower was originally built in 1910. It has five fireplaces, warm chestnut and oak paneling, intricate crown moldings, 19th century bronze and crystal lighting, beveled and stained glass windows and doors and period window treatments throughout. A $2.4M restoration in all 25 rooms has recently been completed. The Estate, combined with Guesthouse totals 8880 sq ft, 7 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, 5 kitchens, being large enough for grand entertaining yet warm enough for a family retreat.
The current owners use the home and property as a Christian retreat.
