This historic mansion in Italy was built in the early 1600’s and is for sale at the well defined price of “around 19 million euros”. It is actually called Villa Garzoni and it is a pretty big deal in this small town because it’s where the original author of the Pinocchio children’s story was born and raised back in the 1880’s. This mansion took almost a hundred years to construct and at it’s time housed over 100 people. There is a huge park below, dedicated to it’s very existence – the town is basically named after the guy. There are still remnants of the early tools and rooms of antiquity within it and those appear to be hand painted murals. It’s not like they had printed wall paper 400 years ago.
From the press release it sounds like they want someone to revitalize and inject some cash. There is a possibly to create a tourist attraction here: “That is why we aim to find a foreign society, as we also did with other real estate holdings we have sold, that understands the potential and invests in improving and increasing the touristic demand linked to the fable of Pinocchio”. It is an interesting story and cool location. Perhaps it could be turned into a for profit museum?
