This is the penthouse suite in the One Madison building on Madison Square in New York City. This is one of the most luxurious penthouses in New York and definitely one of the most expensive condos in Manhattan with an asking price of $72,000,000. This extreme mega penthouse has three floors and is the former home of Rupert Murdoch (apparently he is the current owner and the seller but this is unconfirmed). This is one of Manhattan’s most extreme condos and there are several other units available inside the beautiful building.
According to the builder, Related: “One Madison’s lobby, designed by Yabu Pushelberg, is a dramatic and contemporary space defined by rich book-matched marble walls, a slender water feature that casts light and shadow behind tall wood columns and a curated permanent art installation created specifically for One Madison. One Madison’s slender 60-story bronze glass-clad tower, designed by Cetra/Ruddy, is a distinctive new icon in the Manhattan skyline. Capturing the elegance and excitement of One Madison’s location, every residence offers magnificent views of the park, Madison Avenue and the Manhattan skyline.”
Rupert Murdoch is an Australian born news media producer and one of the wealthiest people in the world. This place is one of the most extreme penthouses in New York with all the five star amenities the hotel has to offer plus the surround area. The building was originally designed by the architectural firm Cetra/Ruddy and the apartment was redone by Jose Ramirez, according to Curbed.
Nicolai Ouroussoff, the architecture critic for the New York Times, called One Madison Park “a dazzling addition to a street that includes two of the city’s most celebrated skyscrapers: Pierre LeBrun’s 1909 Metropolitan Life Tower, across the street, and Daniel Burnham’s 1903 Flatiron building, a half block west. It jolts the neighborhood into the present.”
From the listing agent Dolly Lenz: “Perfectly positioned high above Madison Square Park and crowning the One Madison Condominium, this grand-scale Penthouse with nearly 7,600 square feet of interior and terraced luxury has been designed with the utmost elegance and aesthetic integrity. Featuring a double height Great Room with a sweeping staircase, an oversized gracious Master Suite, four additional bedrooms, and a private internal elevator, the home offers cinematic 360-degree Park, River and New York City skyline views. Luxurious amenities at One Madison include a full-time doorman and concierge along with the One Club, a private residents-only club offering high levels of personal service and boasting an indoor pool, glass-enclosed steam room, state-of-the-art fitness center, lounge, parlor room, screening room and dining room. ”
