Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch recently been put back on the market after being completely redone. It is being split by Sotheby’s broker Harry Kolb and Hilton & Hyland’s Jeffrey Hyland. It features a multi-million dollar restoration and is an extreme mega mansion.
Hyland told The Wall Street Journal that they’re “not encouraging a lot of showings.” Added a representative from Sotheby’s, “We’re not going to be giving tours.” The 2,700-acre property, which is now known as Sycamore Valley Ranch, includes a 50-seat theater, two lakes and a train station, but the more over-the-top amenities, including a zoo and small amusement park, have been removed.
Per the listing agents, the elephant and orangutans are gone, but a llama remains on the property.
The legendary artist originally paid $19.5 million for it in 1988 and renamed the sprawling ranch Neverland in honor of Peter Pan’s island home. Jackson later added his outrageous amenities. Jackson lived in the house for 15 years before financial issues plagued him.
Though the future is uncertain of Neverland Ranch, it is rumored to become a number of different things – anything from a state park, to a Graceland like tribute, or possibly it will be auctioned off. That is of course if it isn’t picked up for the hefty, yet understandable asking price.
