Description: “For the particular and unique location “pieds-dans-l’eau”, for outstanding artistic, historical and environmental reasons it is believed the area of Punta Murena is a unique place of its kind, especially in relation to its overlooking directly to the sea and the private access to the beaches. The property Villa Brunati with park and adjoining units has been declared of particular interest by the Ministry of Culture and Environment on July 31st 1998, transcribed August 20th of the same year. A restructuring and enhancement project is planned of the entire compendium which provides villa accommodation with the creation of housing units in the main building and annexes in the park of independent villas. The complex is served by internal paths immersed in the Mediterranean linking the various units to the promenade, the beaches. Each unit will be equipped with its own parking.
The complex of Villa Brunati, consisted of the concierge or outbuilding, the villa, the vast park and various artifacts that characterize the most picturesque spots of the park, and is located on a small rocky promontory to the east of the municipality of Alassio, between the via Aurelia and the underlying Ariolo beach. Giuseppe Brunati, Milan, architect and had prestigious antique shops in Milan and Rome, while dealing with his profession had been able to meet poets, novelists, writers, artists, men of finance and nobility, becoming, at times, a counselor and friend. Among them there was also Gabriele D’Annunzio, always looking for quirky pieces in the vast field of antiques. Today the complex is fully fenced: the Aurelia entrance is guarded by the annex, whose architectural and decorative appearance was guided by Lombard Gothic, worthily representing the whole complex. The fine entrance gate leads to the avenue leading down to the main house. This is substantially rectangular, each type divided in Genovese style (large room in the middle of the hallway from which branches exit onto which the housing and service spaces are placed).
The property consists of three floors above ground. The roof is hipped on the back and terraced on the front: this giving space to some rooms which enjoy an extraordinary panorama that overlooks the island of Gallinara and Capo Mele. The differentiation of the roof cover is also justified by the fact that the upstream fade is designed in Lombard Gothic style, while at sea it is designed in a neoclassical style. Ancient relics and Well made copies are scattered outside. Various decorative artifacts that adorn the park fountains, kiosks etc., are still enjoyable. Among these what is certainly worth mentioning are the four architectural styles, all different, which mark the four cardinal points of the estate, framing different and superb visuals. The space, dilated thanks to such architectural inventions, culminates in the romantic promenade mentioned above.”
