Enron (#ENE) was an American energy company based in Houston, Texas back in the 90’s. It had over 20,000 employees and was one of the world’s major electricity, natural gas, communications and paper companies. In 2001 the company belly flopped due to false revenue claims and shady back door deals. All in all the company said it was worth $111 billion and was named “Most Innovative Company” for SIX years by Fortune magazine. But it was all a lie. The company was based on an elaborate accounting fraud that bombed and tons of people lost their jobs – it was a huge deal. Well, this house was owned by John Wing, a “prominent member” in the scandal.
The Wing Mansion, as it’s called, is a Mediterranean mega mansion for sale in Houston, Texas and is actually one of the most expensive in Houston. You can have it for the low, low price of $14 million – and it comes furnished. 17,000 square foot, the home sits on the 18th hole of the Carlton Woods’ golf course that was designed by none other than Jack Nicklaus.
From the listing: “One of the most revered signature estates in Carlton Woods is on the ninth hole of the Nicklaus Course at 15 Grand Regency. This spectacular home features the amenities of a fine resort. It has full views of the 9th and 18th holes, the lake and the CW Clubhouse. Other amenities include a two story guest house, a golf house, and over 17,000 square feet of amazing spaces and over 3000 sq. ft. of outdoor spaces. Surrounded by a stone wall and gated, the home is being sold completely furnished.”
