55 Regent's Park Rd, London, England
London’s newest “live-work” house was once a famous recording studio where David Bowie, Tina Turner and other super stars recorded albums many years ago. Inspired by Paris glass mansions, the luxury building was designed by French architect Pierre Chareau and was commissioned by a doctor, Dr Jean Alsace, and built between 1928 and 1932. It was a milestone in design, with extensive use of glass blocks and the introduction of industrial materials into a domestic-type setting located at Primrose Hill, London.
The commercial property for sale was once home to Mayfair Recording Studio, where rockers such as Pink Floyd and The Clash played. The studios closed doors in 2008 and this historic celebrity mansion has been renovated and is now up for sale. These “live-work” buildings are becoming more popular everywhere in the world and are a great answer to the current environmental concerns we have.
Description: “Inspired by the iconic Art Deco Parisian Masterpiece “Maison de Verre” by Pierre Chareau, Eglon House is a new-build live/work residence constructed, detailed and designed to the highest standards.”
